Frequently Asked Questions

1. What exactly do I get when I buy a thermal report?

You receive a secure online link to a thermal image of your home and a clear, plain-English report. It shows where your home is losing heat, how well past work (insulation, windows, doors) is performing, and suggests both simple, low-cost fixes and more permanent retrofit measures.

2. How do you get the thermal image do you need to come into my home?

No. We use our own mobile mapping systems, mounted on cars built in Telford. We drive along public roads at night in the right weather conditions, a bit like Google Street View but in thermal. We do not enter your property or garden.

3. How quickly will my report be ready?

It depends on whether we have already captured data for your street:

If your street is in an area we’ve already surveyed, your report can be prepared very quickly in many cases within 7 days.

If we haven’t captured your street yet, we aim to do so during our next winter survey. Our focus is on cities across England and Wales, and coverage is expanding every year.

You can check where we already have data on our Map page.

4. What if you don’t yet have data for my home?

If we don’t have data for your street when you check, you can either:

  • Register your interest on our contact form (no obligation), or

  • Place an order and we’ll complete your report after we next survey your city.

The more interest we see in a street or area, the higher it goes on our capture list.

5. Which areas do you cover?

We are building a national thermal map of cities in England and Wales. We already have large amounts of data for major cities and are adding more each winter. Our aim is to have city coverage across England and Wales by the end of 2027.

6. Is this the same as an EPC or a structural survey?

No EPC assements do not use thermograhy and therfore miss vital data about a home. An EPC is based on a model and a quick visual inspection; our reports are based on measured thermal data. We don’t replace a full structural or damp survey, but we give a powerful first view of where heat is escaping and whether retrofit work is likely to be doing its job.

7. Who can buy a report do I have to be the owner?

Reports are designed for homeowners, landlords and other authorised parties. We can structure the data to meet their needs, in full compliance with GDPR. Please read our Privacy Notice at the bottom of the page for more information.
